“Now, our God, we give you thanks,
and praise your glorious name.” 1 Chron. 29
We give you thanks
I am thankful to the Lord for the honor of being His child. Without Him my life would have no meaning and no purpose. When a couple of years ago my Dad passed away I realized that in a great degree my inspiration to live and achieve was coming from the simple fact that I had a father who loved me and cared about me. If my God had died I would have been left drifting in this universe with no purpose or inspiration.
I am thankful to the Lord that He blessed me with the most wonderful family. Inspired by His selfless love I am also driven to love because that brings joy into the lives of my dear ones. Without God my love to my family would have been a simple animalistic instinct of preservation and survival.
I am thankful to the Lord for my church. The church is the place where I can realize my purpose of serving to the needs of those who are beyond the circle of my immediate family. It is at the church that I forget about what I want and learn to see other people’s needs.
This has been a wonderful year at our church. I praise the Lord for the new members who joined our church family. I thank God for many wonderful ministries in our congregation. By God’s grace our church family has grown locally and in other parts of the world thanks to our commitment to preaching the Gospel “in Jerusalem … and to the ends of the earth”.
I am thankful to the Lord for all my amazing friends living in the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Germany, Moldova and many many other countries of the world.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving I invite you to remember those who may feel lonely, abandoned or chose to be in denial. Let us make their life brighter and happier.
He is Able!
“Therefore he is able, once and forever, to save those who come to God through him. He lives forever to intercede with God on their behalf.” (Hebrews 7:25)
“Because He [Christ] is an everlasting priest, and has offered the only available sacrifice, he is able to save, from the power, guilt, nature, and punishment of sin, to the uttermost, εις το παντελες, to all intents, degrees, and purposes; and always, and in and through all times, places, and circumstances; for all this is implied in the original word: but in and through all times seems to be the particular meaning here, because of what follows, he ever lives to make intercession for them; this depends on the perpetuity of his priesthood, and the continuance of his mediatorial office.
As Jesus was the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world, has an everlasting priesthood, and is a continual intercessor; it is in virtue of this that all who were saved from the foundation of the world were saved through him, and all that shall be saved to the end of the world will be saved through him. He ever was and ever will be the High Priest, Sacrifice, Intercessor, and Mediator of the human race. All successive generations of men are equally interested in him, and may claim the same privileges. But none can be saved by his grace that do not come unto God through him; i.e. imploring mercy through him as their sacrifice and atonement; confidently trusting that God can be just, and yet the justifier of them who thus come to him, believing on Christ Jesus.” (CCB)
This Sabbath morning I invite you to celebrate the power of our Lord Jesus Christ to save. We will remember His death and resurrection during the Communion Service. He is ABLE to save YOU!

Parenting and Training Children
Sabbath School Program Topic: Parenting and Training Children
The Family Life Ministry team would like to personally invite everyone to make it a priority to make it to the Sabbath School program at 9:20am each Sabbath this quarter. Each week, a different topic will be presented on building a healthy home, as God wishes. We all know it may be difficult to make it a priority to wake up on time and make it to church by 9:20am, but as Ellen White states in Counsels for Sabbath School Work: “Punctuality and decision in the work and cause of God are highly essential. The only day out of the seven that the Lord claims as His, and requires us to devote to Him, quite a portion of this is squandered away by sleeping late in the morning. In this they are robbing God. It causes them to be behind in everything; it makes confusion in the family; and finally results in the tardiness of the entire family at Sabbath school, and perhaps at meeting. Now why can we not rise early with the birds, and offer praise and thanksgiving to God? Try it, brethren and sisters. Have your preparations all made the day before, and come promptly to the Sabbath school and meeting, and you will thereby not only benefit others, but you will reap rich blessings for yourselves“. Even if you are one of the very, very few people who has a perfect family, you can still come out and support your fellow church members.
“Parents, let your children see that you love them and will do all in your power to make them happy. If you do so, your necessary restrictions will have far greater weight in their young minds. Rule your children with tenderness and compassion, remembering that “their angels do always behold the face of My Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 18:10. If you desire the angels to do for your children the work given them of God, co-operate with them by doing your part. Brought up under the wise and loving guidance of a true home, children will have no desire to wander away in search of pleasure and companionship. Evil will not attract them. The spirit that prevails in the home will mold their characters; they will form habits and principles that will be a strong defense against temptation when they shall leave the home shelter and take their place in the world”. Ministry of Healing, page 260
The topics include:
Nov. 5 – Teenagers
Nov. 12 – Resolving conflict in the home
Nov. 19 – Family worship in the home
Nov. 26 – Time management.
Dec. 3 – Responsibilities in the home
Dec. 10 – Single parents/ challenges
Dec. 17 – How to handle a non-believing spouse
Dec. 24 – The home environment
Hope to see you there!
Greetings from Dnepropetrovsk
It is already late Friday night in Dnepropetrovsk. The first day went wonderful! Praise God! Special Thank You to the local pastoral team. Both halls were full. It was so encouraging to see many young visitors at the evening session. We had about 500 just non-Adventists. We expect even more tomorrow and on Sunday. There are no more seats available at the downtown rented hall. The TV team is arranging a local broadcast into hall lobby where the church members will have to stay.
I have no words to relate to you how the local churches are thankful to you for making this evangelism event possible. This city has always been hard to reach. It is still upholding some old communist rituals. I realized that not just the hall is located on Karl Marx street, but my hotel is on Lenin street! However, the name of my hotel is NADEZHDA, in Russian – HOPE. I see now that our hope and our efforts were not in vain! People responded to the invitation. Please, pray now for the Lord to keep them coming and learning about the Three Angels message.
My first daily preaching is at 8 AM Eastern Time and it is not broadcasted, the second time I preach at 11:30 AM Eastern time. Please, pause for a minute and ask the Lord to bless these dear people. You may check it out on the Russian Hope Channel site live at 11:30 at www.hopechannel.info or www.tvhope.net .
I pray that you have a blessed Sabbath at our own Lakeview church with Pastor Matt preaching tomorrow.
Thank you, Tiffaney and Russell for the Regeneration seminar last week. I am sure that many were blessed with the material presented by Frank.
There is a Family Life seminar right after church tomorrow. Thank you, Adrian and Marla.
The Sabbath school is also featuring the Family Life presentation at 9:20 AM. Thank you, Isaac, for this initiative. Thank you, Elysee, for making this happen.
Our local church giving last week was very encouraging. Praise God for your faithfulness and commitment. Let us make a real difference in the month of October! The Lord’s work should not suffer from the lack of funds.
Your servant in the Gospel proclamation,
Peter from Lenin Street in Dnepropetrovsk
Recovery and Regeneration Sabbath!
Are you or a loved one struggling with an addiction? Has food, alcohol or bitterness taken over your life?
Join Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church in conjunction with Health and Family Life Ministries in a special
Recovery and Regeneration Sabbath!
When: Sabbath, October 1st, 2011: Sabbath School Hour: 09:20-10:00 am; Afternoon seminar from 1:30-4:00pm after Potluck
Where: Lakeview Seventh-day Adventist Church
Special Guest Speaker: Frank Sanchez, Southern Union Coordinator of Adventist Recovery Ministries
The goal of this special Sabbath will be to equip Lakeview to be a safe, healthy place that will be able to confront addictions and face denial. The presentation explains biblical principles of a Christ-centered program for growing a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through the 12 Steps to Recovery. The discussion shows how a Christ-centered support group helps us recognize needs, powerlessness, and God’s power to restore and renew us from dysfunctional behavior.
Lakeview hopes to establish a confidential small group forum in which the hurting, neglected, and unheard may seek the support, love, acceptance, forgiveness and affirmation of others who have been there and understand. The ministry’s goals are to lift Jesus up in recovery so that people will be drawn to Him. Please plan to come!

Prophecy Seminar
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 – 7.30PM
Prophecy Gives PEACE OF MIND
Many catastrophic events have happened in our world. Bible prophecy brings meaning to these events. If you are unaware of this, these seminars will broaden your understanding so you can decipher the truth and have peace about the future.
Speaker, Ron E. M. Clouzet, DMin, ThD (ABD), is the founder of H.O.P.E. University, Director of the North American Division Evangelism Institute, and Professor of Ministry and Theology at Andrews University, in Michigan.
He has been to over 50 countries in six continents, and has lectured extensively on Bible prophecy. His dynamic, multi-media presentations are clear and convincing, making the Bible come alive. He will show how prophecies and other Bible teachings relate to contemporary trends and worldwide events.
Dr. Clouzet will make you two promises: he will teach the Bible and he will lift up Jesus, the Master Teacher.
The seminar will be received at the Lakeview church over the satellite. The address is: 4001 Macedonia Rd, Powder Springs, GA 30120 . phone 770-222-1511
The seminar will continue on nightly except for Sundays and Thursdays till October 29. To see the list of all the topics go to: http://www.propheciesdecoded.com/program
Don’t rust and decay… there is a better way
“God has been pleased to deal with us in a most remarkable way concerning our Christian stewardship and responsibility of honoring Him with the things He has entrusted to us. The Bible teaching is plain: you have the right to keep what you have all to yourself-but it will then rust and decay, and ultimately ruin you! This may hurt some of you but I am obliged to tell you that God does not need anything you have! He does not need a dime of your money! What you need to understand is that it is your own spiritual welfare at stake in such matters as this. There is a beautiful and enriching principle involved in our offering to God what we are and what we have, but none of us are giving because there is a depression in heaven! A long time ago God said: “If I had need of anything, would I tell you?” Brethren, if the living God had need of anything, He would no longer be God!” (A.T.)
““Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Matt. 6:19-21
Where is your Samaria today?
Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. The Lord needs you to prepare the way for the glorious return of our King of Kings, Christ our Savior. To be in the group of those who are called for this service we need “the spirit and the power” of Elijah. What is this spirit and where we can find the source of this power? You can find the answers to this important questions this Sabbath morning if you join us for the 11 AM Worship hour. This will be my concluding sermon in the series of messages on Elijah the prophet.
Jesus told His disciples that the infilling of the Holy Spirit would give them power to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Where is your Samaria today? Do you have power to share the Good News? The ministry of the church today is dependent upon the work of the Holy Spirit. Scripture tells us it is “not by might nor by power but BY MY SPIRIT saith the Lord” (Zechariah 4:6).
